Roadside Ditch?

I understand that commercials are trying to be funny and creative. Many of them succeed, but many fail. "Don't end up in a roadside ditch" in regards to DirecTV is kinda messed up.

So, here's the commercial:

Wow, really?

That's some pretty serious shit all over being on hold.

So he's on hold, yeah that's frustrating. He lets off a little steam playin racket ball, totally understandable. Get hit in the eye? Could happen. He gets an eye patch, bummer. 

Here's where it starts to get totally out there.

Since when the hell does having an eye patch mean you're tough? Seriously, I have never in my life seen a bunch of dudes look at a guy with an eye patch and say "Oh, hes tough! Let's mess with him." Then chasing a man who only has one good eye? Not cool. 

Beating him up and throwing him in a ditch?! WTF? All because he has an eye patch? 

And all of this because he was a little mad about being on hold with said cable company. So basically.. DirecTV will save you from having a bad day.

I wonder if it's a true story.
